THE 12 TRIBES AND THE TABERNACLE – PART 2

TRIBES OF THE EAST ;

On the East side of the Tabernacle were stationed three tribes of Israel :

  1. Judah

  2. Issachar

  3. Zebulun

JUDAH

Judah was strategically positioned and this name had several meanings with the key one being Praise and Worship. Judah was a strong leader and worked hand in hand with Simeon to lead the children of Israel to victory, Victory has a sound.

There is a time to hear God like Simeon but there is also a time to lift your voice with a sound of triumph like the tribe of Judah.

Psalms 47:1

O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.

If you can’t lose your praise then you can never lose your ability to hear God.

In fact the scripture says that God inhabits the praises of his people.

Psalms 22:3

But you are holy, you who inhabit the praises of Israel.

We also come to understand that Judah was positioned at the entrance of the tabernacle because we enter the presence of God with thanksgiving in our hearts and we enter His gates with praise. (Psalms 100:4).

The key thing to learn here is that worship and praise gives you authority and ruler-ship because you know where you stand. When you praise you are never alone.

ISSACHAR

The meaning of Issachar is brought out as the ability of diligent discernment and divine wisdom.

It also means one having understanding of times and seasons.

1st Chronicles 12:32

And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment.

These had a supernatural wisdom to know what to do in trying times.

ZEBULUN

Zebulun represented Business people.

The people with this spirit are known for being the biggest tithers in today’s world.

They do business intentionally with the purpose of financing the kingdom of God.

Deuteronomy 33:19

They shall call the peoples to the mountain; There they shall offer sacrifices of righteousness; for they shall partake of the abundance of the seas and of treasures hidden in the sand.”
