There is such a beauty in oneness. Oneness goes beyond unity. In unity, certain personal desires might need to be disregarded by an individual, for the agreement of the whole. However in oneness, the thoughts are one, the desires are one. What is in the heart of one, is in the heart of the other.
1 Corinthians 6:17
But whoever is united with the Lord is one with Him in spirit.
The scripture says that it is by unity that we get to oneness. Unity with God occurs when we accept the atonement of our sins through Christ Jesus. For it is through Jesus Christ that we are reconciled back to God. This unity affords us oneness with His Spirit. And that should get you all sorts of happy!
The scripture in 1 Corinthians 2: 9-11 says
However as it is written: ‘What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard and what no human mind has conceived’ –the things God has prepared for those who love Him –these are the things God has revealed to us by His Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
The Spirit of God reveals to us the prepared things of our Father. Not only that, He also reveals the depths of God’s heart. Oh how wonderful! Realize that your Father in Heaven is prepared is for you. Despite of how the circumstances in your life are, your Father is prepared. Your existence does not catch Him by surprise.
See also, that the prepared works are revealed to you by His Spirit who is one with you. I don’t know about you, but that gives me such confidence to walk on this world.
We as believers have the ability to know the deep things of God because we are one with Him. However we have to walk into a deeper fellowship with the Spirit of God in order to see the prepared things. I’ll tell you why.
Take for example, a stranger walks up to you on your birthday and tells you that they have prepared something special for you. On the same day, your best friend walks up to you and tells you that they have prepared something for you. Whose preparedness will you walk into? That of the best friend of course. Even though maybe the stranger had something more grand that your best friend. Why? Because the relationship aspect of it matters. You trust someone because of the relationship that has been formed and grown between the two of you.
The same case will apply spiritually. The only way you will walk into the prepared things of God, is by you affirming your trust in Him. This is done by a constant fellowship with His Spirit.
And thank God that He – the Spirit – is one with you.
